The “Knowledge Spiral” in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Call for Papers and Conference Announcement for the 2026 Symposium on Knowledge Management and Knowledge Innovation

At present, artificial intelligence technologies are undergoing rapid iterative advancement, and the value of knowledge as a core production factor is becoming increasingly prominent. Traditional theories and practices of knowledge management are experiencing profound transformation, and the classic Knowledge Spiral Theory in particular is encountering new development opportunities and challenges. AI is reshaping the entire chain of knowledge creation, transformation, sharing, and innovation, driving the evolution of the knowledge spiral toward human–machine dual-subject collaboration. At the same time, it raises numerous issues concerning theoretical reconstruction, practical adaptation, knowledge corpus upgrading and renewal, and risk governance.

To address the demands of the times and promote innovation in knowledge management theory and the deepening of practice, the National Science Library - Chinese Academy of Sciences, will host the Knowledge Spiral in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: 2026 Symposium on Knowledge Management and Knowledge Innovation in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, from September 21 to 24, 2026 (two-day conference). The symposium is jointly organized by the Editorial Office of Knowledge Management Forum, the School of Economics and Management of Nanjing Tech University, and the School of Information Management of Central China Normal University. Focusing on the core theme of AI-empowered knowledge spirals, the symposium will focus on key areas including knowledge innovation, knowledge creation, knowledge transformation, collaborative evolution, knowledge sharing, knowledge corpus construction, and large language model applications. More than 20 experts will be invited to engage in in-depth discussions and exchanges, providing intellectual support and practical guidance for the sustainable development of knowledge management and knowledge innovation in the age of artificial intelligence.
