Abstract

[Purpose/significance] Studying the current situation of scientific research cooperation between “985” and “211” universities, can promote the implementation of the “2011 Plan” . [Method/process] Based on all the data of CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure) as the data source, we searched for co-authored data supported by the Chinese Natural Science Fund from 2004 to 2014. We applied the social network analysis to make a research on the cooperative study between “985” and “211” colleges and universities, including the cooperation network degree centrality, the mediation centrality and the network condensing subgroup analysis. [Result/conclusion] The degree of Tsinghua University centrality is the highest in 116 colleges and universities, which illustrates its position as the most important university. The geographical location and the spatial distance have great influence for tightness in the collaboration relationship between colleges and universities. Secondly, the colleges with overlapping or similar disciplines contact more closely. The number of papers published by “985” colleges and universities is more and the cooperation between “985” colleges and universities is also very close.
