Abstract

[Purpose/significance]With the popularity of the Internet, more and more attention has been paid to the research of Internet governance. The original data are based on Chinese literatures from CNKI database in the field of Internet Governance from 2002 to 2014, and the visualized bibliometric analysis is carried out by using CiteSpace. [Method/process]This paper analyzedthe network of co-occurring authors and research institutions, research themes and hot topics, the situation of the research theme change, and characteristics of research based on research themes. [Result/conclusion]This study shows that there is more communication in the same institutions and less cooperation among different institutions in the field of Internet governance. The knowledge background of the majority of scholars is communication; the research achievement of the network security and the public opinion of network are more abundant. Themes can be roughly divided into three stages: first focusing on technology, resource and industry, then focusing on content management, and now focusing on the development of broad connotation of Internet governance.
